Mexicali Restaurant Pergola

Mexicali, Monton Road, Eccles

Monton Road in Eccles is home to a number of bars and restaurants, many of which offer outdoor dining at the front of the premises.

The owners of one of these businesses, Mexicali Mexican restaurant, also wanted extra space for dining – a space that could be used in all weathers, not just in the sunshine, but with a retractable roof so they could offer an open-air, alfresco dining experience too during the warmer months.

We fitted a 5m x 4m pergola with a fully retractable roof system, made from fabric, that can be operated via remote control. To create an enclosed environment, protecting customers from the elements, we fitted sliding glass doors on two of the sides with one side cladding, as the property next door also had an outdoor dining area. This offered an element of privacy between the two commercial properties.

We installed integrated LED lighting so the dining space could be kept illuminated, as well as fitting wall-mounted heaters to provide warmth during the colder months and evenings. Finally, the pergola was fitted with a commercial restaurant door.

Before completing the installation of the frame for the pergola at the beginning of the project, we installed a bespoke goalpost system, concreted into the floor slab, to fit the fabric retractable roof to. The was necessary as there was nowhere on the exterior wall of the property to attach it to.
